Pro General Comments: Instrumentally, the track has a kind of retro sound in terms of the synths and samples being used. Reminiscent of some of the jazz fusion bands from the 70'sand 80's. The song has a very positive and upbeat kind of mood and chord progression as well as the lead synth melody. Keyboard solo during the bridge has some nice runs in it and shows dexterity and skill. The modulation at 2:07 creates even more interest for the listener before going back to the verse sections. Shows off your skill as a composer and the ability to come up an original melody and contemporary sounding chord progressions. The one thing I would think about doing however is to not have the track fade out as it did. If it ever was to be considered for a film & TV placement then the fade out would not work. It's always best for that kind of opportunity to have a sting like or conclusion type of ending that editors could end a scene on.

Quote From Pro: Solid composing skills demonstrated in a jazz fusion type of style with retro sounding lead synths and inventive chord progressions throughout.

Pro General Comments: From the opening jangly guitar "call to arms" I was hooked. The vibe, the groove and then the plaintive vocal took me strait the Quarter for a stroll among the flavors, smells and sounds of New Orleans. Ah, what music can do. (Thank you for this!). Quite honestly I can't stop listening to this wonderful elixir of a song. The story is haunting and engaging. It requires the listener to beg for more of the story. Please, share more of this story! The timbre of the lead vocal is exceptional. The inherent heartbreak of the sound is something else. Then when the backing vocals appear the song is elevated to a new level. It recalls echoes of the Eagles or The Hollies. Please don't get me wrong here, this is totally unique and original with a wonderful tip of the hat to those who came before. Musically the track really works. New elements appear at just the right time to keep the listener engaged and interested. The arrangement and recording are absolutely top notch. And the lovely entrance of the tambourine! This really sounds like a hit song to me. Timeless and new at the same time. Simple. Elegant. Swaying side to side, flirting and haunting like Sweet Angelique herself.Thank you for sharing this with me!

Pro General Comments: Hi Kurt -Thanks for sending your song to me for a review, I really enjoyed listening to it, it's excellent. I don't give too many "5/5" ratings... to me, this song sounds like it should have been a hit in the 1990s, you know? It's not really missing anything from my perspective, as far as what I can tell you to improve upon. I like the performances, the vocals, the instrumental work - excellent guitars and solo too. Everything fits well together. It's a really great jam plus it has a solid hook/chorus. I can tell too that you guys have a really good songwriting foundation because the lyrics and chorus work well together and the song structure is to me, just how I'd have it if it were my song. I like the bridge too. Again, it sounds like a hit song in my opinion. As for sync, if you're interested, I can pitch it to some Sports TV folks and/or some retail placement clients and see what they might say about it. It might work for something like that. The quality is definitely there. Send me a note if you're interested, doug@musicopps.com and we can see what happens.I feel like the song title is just a tiny bit too 'dark'. As first impressions are key, honestly, seeing the title "Dying Generation" to me was not very intriguing and made me sort of not really want to listen to it - but I was (very) pleasantly surprised to find out that it wasn't really what I thought it was... it really seems like kind of a positive, or at least upbeat message to some degree (the music gives it that feel). The lyrics would've been good to see too, FYI for the future. I'd think about having the song title be something like "The Simple Life (Dying Generation)". I think the current title leaves one with a feel of negativity, perhaps unjustly. Hope that makes sense. Do stay in touch and know that I will try to help you get this song - at the very least - listened to, and potentially placed somewhere. Excellent work!Best,Doug Diamond

Quote From Pro: "Dying Generation" is an excellent song that to me, sounds like it should have been a hit in the late '90s / early 2000s. The soaring hook/chorus really gives a sense of emotional lift, that I believe people would really like to hear. As a music supervisor, I also think it could also work in some sync situations. Great job.

Pro General Comments: Hi Chris -Thanks for letting me know about your tune, "Vice Pursued". I was checking out your site earlier and found you on Spotify too. Nice work on all the above. Good wordplay on your project name - I like that, very clever, and works well with your style of music. Your production value (the technical aspects of the recording, mix, and master) are all excellent and very radio-ready/sync-ready in my opinion. Good performances both instrumentally and also vocally. I think it works and seems very professional. I do remember hearing some of your other tunes you submitted here on Bjam. Good stuff. I definitely think you're on the right track, so keep up the really good work. In reading your bio information, I'm not clear on if you're actively gigging or not. If not, then finding a band/artist with a similar style that could cover some of your songs might be ideal. Start with Vegas (or Nashville). There might be some artists out there who are looking for new, really great, what I would call "Chromium Blues Rock". It puts me in mind of something you might hear on shows like "Counting Cars" or "Pawn Stars". There certainly must be some bands out there looking for stuff like this. If you are actively gigging, then perhaps look into playing places that would favor that type of music and clientele (motorcycles, custom cars, tattoos, you name it). I think you definitely have something here that could work and finding the right audience is key. It'd be perfect for Sturgis... have you already looked at seeing if your music could work in venues who cater to that crowd during that time in SD? I would. Hope that's helpful. Again, keep up the good work and stay in touch.

Quote From Pro: "Vice Pursued" is a pounding, chromium-infused (think hot rods, motorcycles, and customized cars) Blues-Rock track that might just be a perfect fit in the exact, right sync situation in a TV show, film, or commercial. I believe it could work on radio as well. Nice work.
