Pro General Comments: Be careful not to use you so many times or you rhymes in verse 1.I count 26 total used in the song and that is not something i would advise you to make a habit of. You should purposely avoid you rhymes or the word you in the verses or bridge...Using a specific year like 72 describes 48 years ago and makes the singer around 65 years old...I'd try i'm sittin' in my truck bought back in 02...that makes the singer around 35...barbed wire is definitely an interesting choice...duct tape is an option...gin is rarely used in a country song...drinking straight gin from a bottle is not appealing to me but that's subjective...how long have you been lonely...the bigger question is why didn't you give your heart to her? Verse 3 is very cliche'. Avoid cliche's...they are someone else's words. Be more creative and original every chance you get...prosody is important. The music is bright and full of energy but the lyric is dark and gloomy. Love the mix and choice of instruments. Very strong vocal...catchy melodies
Quote From Pro: Impressed that this is your first country song. In my opinion this is a strong first step down a red dirt country road. Good luck in your musical journey.
